I love crab cakes.
I’m not particularly a picky eater, but I can often find myself being a bit of a food snob. People often confuse the two, but here’s the difference: I don’t generally mind what I’m eating as long as it’s good. Really good. Seafood is definitely my favorite, and crab cakes are my thing. As long as they are good. When I go out to dinner and am in a mood to splurge, I find myself always ordering crab cakes. And I am so often disappointed by mediocre crab cakes. I know there are amazing crab cakes out there, and I have never tried making them, but I feel like it can’t be that difficult… As long as you have good, fresh, meaty, melt-in-your-mouth crab, which I know that the many seas of our world produce. So then, why are so many crab cakes so..well, bad? With that being said, I found myself ordering crab cakes more and more just to analyze and compare them, in hopes of finding a crab cake that could never be beaten… and then I found myself forgetting which restaurant’s crab cakes were edible, inedible and which ones I would order again. So I decided to start a journal, just a memo pad in my phone where I would jot notes down on the different crab cakes I tried, and thus is born the Crab Cake Chronicles. Now you can be a part of my journey towards finding that one, unbeatable crab cake; and of course learn where to and not to order them!
